Special conditions:

Restriction of Movement and Pre-Movement Influenza Testing of Dairy Cattle:

As of May 9, 2024 the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's emergency order for the movement and testing of dairy cattle has been updated and is in accordance with the Federal order.

- The timeframe for testing has been extended from 5 days to 7 days to mirror the Federal Order.

- Testing of non-lactating cattle by nasal swabs is still required for animals coming from affected states, but this is restricted to animals over 18 months of age and excludes animals moving directly to slaughter.

APPLICABLE REGULATIONS FOR THIS MOVE

  1. No official identification required.

  2. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian 30 days or less prior to entry. A count of animals and a description (breed, color, sex and/or estimated weight) must be recorded.

  1. NUES 9 tags

    • silver 'brite' tags
    • OCV/Bangs tags (orange)
  2. AIN tags - visible or RFID

    • '840' prefix
    • '900' prefix (only for tags manufactured before March 11, 2014 and applied before March 11, 2015)
