Special conditions:

Emergency alert for HPAI in Dairy Cattle:

- In an effort to protect the dairy herd in Nebraska, NDA is issuing an importation order effective immediately. The importation order will require all breeding female dairy cattle entering the state of Nebraska to obtain a permit issued by NDA prior to entry. The new importation order will be in place until February 28, 2026 and will be re-evaluated at that time.

- Negative H5N1 test within 7 days prior to entry on lactating dairy females per the Federal Order.

- Slaughter cattle must travel with a CVI and official identification. The CVI must include a statement that the cattle are free of clinical signs of HPAI.

APPLICABLE REGULATIONS FOR THIS MOVE

  1. Official identification required.

  2. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian 30 days before entry, with official ID numbers recorded on the CVI.

  3. CVI must include the statement, 'These breeding males must have not commingled with any other herd.'

  1. NUES 9 tags

    • silver 'brite' tags
    • OCV/Bangs tags (orange)

  2. AIN tags

    • '840' prefix
    • '900' prefix (only for tags manufactured before March 11, 2014 and applied before March 11, 2015)
